I wonder how many of you still allow this Monster to be in your life…

Today, I am getting personal and I want to tell you my story with this Monster in order to expand awareness and offer a different perspective on dealing with it.

My “S” monster lived in my inner closet and hid in its corridors for the longest time. For the majority of the time it was dormant except for the times that it revealed itself to me, but I did not pay attention to it because it was wearing a variety of masks at different stages of my life. At times, it wore a white veil, a pregnancy belly, or a beautiful baby. At other times, it was disguised as a career success or promotion. His worst mask ever was when he took away my loved ones or caused them major health issues.

To make a long story short, my “S” monster was my companion since childhood and caused me severe physical, emotional, and cognitive imbalances and ill health. This “S” monster that I am talking about is STRESS which I truly believe it is at the root cause of disharmony and illness.

You may ask me, how were you able to handle stress? How did you cope with it?

To tell you the truth, I did not. I handled neither the stressors nor my life properly. I came up with my own brilliant idea of dealing with stress and that is to ignore it. This strategy worked for some time, but in the end, my ship sank, and I sank with it where I finally came face to face with my monster and saw its ugly face.

In order to learn how to deal with the stress monster, we first need to understand how it operates in order to combat it and be equipped with the right tools and techniques to put it at bay. In this video https://youtu.be/woa5zfUT2x8

I talk about the biology of stress and how it affects our bodies. Next time I’ll be talking about the signs and symptoms of stress.
