It has been a very long time since I connected with you. The reason for that is that I was going through health challenges that prevented me from focusing on anything other than my wellbeing. Speaking of well-being, I want to dedicate this blog to talk about a missing and neglected aspect of our well-being. I shall be coining the term “Energetic Well-being” which makes it the 12th dimension of our wellbeing.
Dimensions of Wellbeing:
When we talk about well-being, we often talk about the 11 dimensions of our wellbeing. The physical, emotional, intellectual, social, occupational, environmental, financial, cultural, spiritual, psychological, and existential wellbeing. These are all important aspects of our lives, and they contribute to our overall sense of happiness and fulfillment. However, there is another dimension of well-being that is often overlooked – the energetic dimension.
The Energetic Dimension of Wellbeing:
The energetic dimension refers to the subtle body that exists within us such as the energy centers (chakras), meridians, and aura. This dimension is not visible to the naked eye. However, it plays a crucial role in our physical, mental, and emotional health. When our energetic body is in balance and flowing freely, we feel vibrant, alive, and connected to the world around us. But when there are blockages or imbalances in this dimension, we may experience physical symptoms, emotional turmoil, or mental distress.
Energetic Wellbeing Practices:
Unlocking the missing piece of well-being means recognizing the importance of the energetic dimension and taking steps to care for it. This can involve practices such as meditation, yoga, Qigong and tai chi, acupuncture, Reiki, or energy healing. These practices work by stimulating the body’s natural healing processes and promote the energy flow to areas of the body that may be blocked or stagnant.
Conclusion:
It’s important to remember that the dimensions of well-being are interconnected – when we neglect one aspect of ourselves, it can impact the others. By paying attention to your energetic body and nurturing it with care and intention, you can create a foundation of well-being that supports all aspects of your life. So, take a moment to connect with your inner energy, breathe deeply into your belly, and allow yourself to feel the flow of life force moving through you. You may be surprised at how much more vibrant and alive you feel!
